Even as a huge fan sometimes you just have to face palm and shake your head at these odds.

Would be great and all but I just don't see it.

It's cool seeing your players/team in these talks though. After all the pain I've endured watching them the past 25 years lol.

I’m just surprised that Giroux was ranked so low with an absolute rockstar like JVR joining Philly’s top six.

The guys making the lines know how many suckers there are out there who look at 10/1 odds and think to themselves "that's easy money". It's not the real odds as much as it is to balance the betting line.

The odds are set by the money coming in more than actual expectation. Many Leaf fans will want to bet on Tavares so it
Changes the odds. There are way fewer flyer fans so longer odds on their players.

Hard no on Bieksa. Stop suggesting it.
Keep the sandpaper. I’ll take skill and speed thanks.

JVR won't be able to do anything more than Simmonds has done for Philly being parked in front of the net. So I wouldn't expect Giroux's numbers to change much. Not like they need to in the first place, he's already a stud.

Giroux is better than Tavares, not sure why you are so giddy about this bud. Tavares has accomplished nothing in his career, whats he been to the post season once?

The only free agent mentioned that should be of interest is Vermette as a 4C because he does bring some skill still.

Tavares, unfortunately, just isn't Hart trophy material. I love the guy, but he's a step down from the elite players. Of the players shown I REALLY like the odds on McKinnon. But, yeah, it us cool to see excitement back in Toronto.

@claude....I think it's been atleast twice. I believe the Pens played the isles 2 times. I could be wrong though. But, yeah, Giroux is so much more dynamic. Hopefully he doesn't trend downward again.

Thank you Pens fan! I'm not saying Tavares is a bad player but the notion that he is top 5 when he isn't even top 10 is ridiculous. He will not be winning the MVP and his odds are comical. Great player but I agree with the Pens fan, step below the elite guys.

To be fair, Giroux hasn't accomplished anything either. He's only had one good playoff run and that was with good players on his team. Tavares hasn't had that luxury his whole career until this upcoming season. You going to compare these two all season aren't you? Give it up already.. lol

His postseason experience is about to skyrocket dramatically. He should have good odds for the Conn Smythe.

Haha not all season, dog days of summer though, I'm coming for you. Obviously the Toronto crowd gets the love from the media, ticks me off a little. All in all I think they will be a good team again but the way these playoffs are set up i would not be surprised at all by a first round exit from them. Just annoying that the media wants to crown them before they hit the ice.

Don't bet on Matthews the year after everybody had a big argument about McDavid.

He's gonna rack up a ton of points and win MVP regardless of how many wins the team gets next year.

If you bet on Matthews you have to bank on a McJesus injury, that could make it pay off.

The media is just saying they're good, which they are. Nobody's crowning anyone, that's in your head.

If they can make it deep than he is the type of player that could win a conn Smythe. But, for at least the next 3 years They'll have to get past teams in Pittsburgh, Tampa, Boston and Washington (I think they're better than people give them credit for) who are more experienced and, in my eyes, a little better.

Honestly, the leafs will be fun to watch....I personally love explosive offfensive play with little regard to defense...but they have some seriously tough competition in the east. Even the hurricanes with that defensive core are gonna be tough for the foreseeable future.

Cool. Maybe if you could keep them out of your mouth for five minutes they would not be so inclined to devote column inches to them.

Now take your closet obsession and go (frank) your hat.

That's a bold prediction.

Like I can say that you will not win a lottery prize in the next month.
